Tank 1990 combines movement, aiming and defence on a battlefield. The joystick moves your tank, the fire button attacks and enemy tanks threaten both your vehicle and the base you need to protect. Clearing the enemies completes the level, so moving into a useful firing position matters as much as firing frequently. Power-ups can change your options during the battle, while the 3D scene gives the classic tank format a new presentation.

Keep the base in mind when choosing where to fight. Chasing an enemy to the far side of the battlefield may leave a more important approach unguarded. Find positions where you can see a threat, line up a shot and still move if another tank appears. A power-up can be helpful, but read the route towards it before leaving cover or a defensive position. The most useful move is often the one that helps you deal with the next threat while keeping the objective protected.
