Reversi is a board game in which a placed disc can change several pieces at once. You play black and move first, choosing a square that traps a line of white discs between two black ones. The trapped discs flip to your colour, but the same rule gives the robot a chance to change the position again. A turn may be skipped when no legal move exists, and the final comparison of discs decides the winner. The 3D board keeps those changing lines easy to see.

Do not judge a move only by the number of discs it flips immediately. Look at which squares the new position makes available to the opponent. Corners can be valuable because they are harder to reverse, while a tempting move next to an open corner can create an opportunity for the other side. Consider the edges and the available legal moves as the board fills. A small gain that keeps useful choices can matter more than a large early capture that gives control away.
